While VJ’s time in Haiti was short, the impact he made was beyond measures. From the small gifts - such as delivering a suitcase full of shoes so that patients with fractures have a better chance of healing – to the much larger gifts – such as escorting a 16-year Haitian girl back to the US so she can receive proper medical care to the burns that cover 30% of her body – his work will have a lasting impact....

Travel Nursing - Where to Get Licensed

Our Recruitment staff is often asked by nurses - In which states should I apply for a nursing license? In the current travel market, most hospitals require that an RN hold an active nursing license in order to even be submitted and considered for an interview. With that said, we wanted to highlight the most difficult states to obtain licensure in, in terms of the length of the application process. If you plan to visit any of these states on a future travel assignment, then it is advised that you apply for the nursing license ahead of time so that you will be set and ready to go with a license in hand at the time of submittal. Keep in mind that Clinical One will reimburse you for the full endorsement fee, once you start an assignment in that particular state, regardless of when you actually applied for the license. So even if you obtained a license a full year prior to actually starting a position, we will still reimburse you once you start your assignment in that state....

Changes in Florida law passed during the 2010 legislative session require all contract persons seeking employment with a healthcare provider starting as of 8/1/10 to have a Level 2 criminal background screening. A level 2 screening is required for all employees and contractors providing direct care within the State of Florida. This requirement is not related to the FL licensing process but is a requirement in order to be employed as a healthcare professional in the state. A Level 2 background screening requires fingerprints to be sent to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Screening results are based on the identification of a fingerprint match with an arrest record. The level 2 screening only needs to be done once every 5 years so long as there have been no significant breaks in employment during that 5 year time frame....
