per diem staffing FAQs
Are there any additional fees above and beyond the hourly rate?
No. Our hourly rate is an all-inclusive rate that is billed to you based on hours worked by the employee. The hourly rate encompasses the following:
- Hourly salary
- Differentials
- Payroll taxes
- Professional liability insurance
- Worker's Compensation
- Health Insurance
- 401(k)
- Administrative Fees
What benefits do you provide your per diem employees?

- 401(k) plan
- Extensive health insurance coverage including medical, dental, vision and life insurance
- Daily pay, direct deposit, and pay cards
- Referral & Incentive Bonuses
- 24-hour assistance

What are your lead time requirements to fill job orders?
Our offices are well staffed 24/7 so that we can provide you with an immediate response to your staffing requests. We work in advance to ensure we always have a large pool of qualified healthcare professionals, fully credentialed and ready to be deployed at any time. Depending on how soon you need staff, we can respond to fill your needs in as little as 15 minutes or less. Extremely urgent needs are often filled while we are still on the telephone with you! Non-urgent staffing needs posted in advance will typically be filled within 48 hours.
What is your cancellation policy?
Clinical One requires 2-hours notice for cancellation. If a facility makes a cancellation of less than 2-hours or an employee is sent home due to a scheduling error by the client, the facility will be charged 4-hours of billing to compensate the already committed employee.
Is there a fee if we hire one of your per diem employees on a direct hire basis?
Contract Employees must work a minimum of 90 days before being eligible for permanent placement (including part-time and internal pool positions) at the client facility. Clinical One does require at least 30 days written notice of any intent to offer Contract Employees a permanent position. Clinical One would then assess a placement fee based on the following conversion fee schedule:
| Hire Date |

For any healthcare professionals not falling into the above schedule, the Facility and Clinical One will mutually agree to a conversion fee based upon the position and annual salary being offered to the candidate.
Which locations do you offer per diem service?
We currently have four fully staffed offices in New England that operate in the following cities: Worcester, Massachusetts; Quincy, Massachusetts; Providence, Rhode Island, and New Haven, Connecticut. These offices service all of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, and the Southern portions of New Hampshire and Vermont. Should your facility be located in a different geographical area and have significant per diem needs, please contact us at 800-919-9100 about setting up a per diem program in your local area.
Can you staff per diem shifts nationwide?
Not always. We do make the best effort to accommodate our nurses and facilities, but regional support is critical in per diem staffing. For short term assignments, 8 weeks or less, exceptions can be made, but normally, per diem business is best maintained in the areas where we have operational presence. Please feel free to contact us regarding your specific situation and needs at 800-919-9100 and we will do our best to provide the staffing solution you require.
We have a contract with another division within Clinical One or Randstad; can we work with Per Diem as well?
Yes, absolutely. It is our desire to leverage relationships with clients that already do business with Clinical One or a Randstad sister-company. If you are currently doing business with another business line and are in need of per diem staffing, please contact us today at 800-919-9100.
Will I see a Clinical One staff representative in my facility at all?
Absolutely. Every per diem office has staffing coordinators and other representatives that make periodic visits to each facility to ensure quality control and assurance. Facilities may request additional visits if desired.
Are you Joint Commission certified?
Clinical One’s staffing solutions are Joint Commission certified. We are dedicated to quality patient care and performance improvement, and recognize the impact that our supplemental staff will have on the patient care that is delivered at our client facilities.
