case management FAQs
Are there any additional fees above and beyond the hourly rate?
No. Our hourly rate is an all-inclusive rate that is billed to you based on hours worked by the employee. The hourly rate encompasses the following:
- Marketing, Advertising, and Recruiting fees
- Full Candidate Screening and Referencing
- Hourly wages
- Payroll taxes
- Professional liability insurance
- Worker's Compensation
- Health Insurance
- 401 (k)
- Administrative fees
What are your time requirements to fill orders?
The length of time required to find a qualified candidate can range from one hour to several days. We have pre-qualified candidates actively available in our system and ready to respond to last minute needs, hard to fill positions, and changes in census. This may vary depending upon availability of staff, licensure, specialty of the healthcare professional, location, and pay rate or other incentives.
What type of screening do you do on candidates before placing them?
As a Joint Commission certified healthcare staffing service, Clinical One maintains some of the most rigorous screening requirements in the industry, and in fact we only accept approximately 1 out of 4 applicants. We take care of the due diligence so you do not have to. Our process includes but is not limited to a phone interview to screen for cultural fit as a contract employee or traveler, thorough reference checks which must include verification of at least one year of experience in their specialty and validation of clinical and professional skills, national database sanction checks (OIG, GSA, EPLS) and license verification, competency testing, a criminal background check and drug testing as well as a recent physical, TB test and immunization history. Additionally we are experienced at customizing our screening process to include any additional screening and/or orientation and training to meet the unique needs of your facility at no additional cost to you.
Can I extend a contract employee through Clinical One?
Extensions for Clinical One contract employees are available at your request. We encourage our clients to extend contract employees as a way to provide continuity of coverage. We can extend contract employees for any length of time that meets the needs of your facility.
Is there a fee if we hire one of your contractors on a permanent basis?
There is no direct hire fee once a candidate has completed 26-weeks of work at your facility as a contractor with Clinical One. As you know, this time period gives you a good chance to evaluate and monitor the candidate's skills and performance in determining whether or not they would be a good permanent fit for your facility. A direct hire is defined as any permanent full-time, part-time or pool position where they no longer remain on Clinical One's payroll. Should you choose to hire a Clinical One contractor after completion of a 13-week assignment, there would be a nominal placement fee incurred by your facility. In this instance, a minimum of 30-day notice in writing is required.
Are you Joint Commission certified?
Clinical One’s staffing solutions are Joint Commission certified. We are dedicated to quality patient care and performance improvement, and recognize the impact that our supplemental staff will have on the patient care that is delivered at our client facilities. Since 2005, Clinical One’s Director of Operations, Melissa Knybel, RN, BSN, has been a member of the very first Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services Certification Advisory Council. The purpose of the Council is to further define quality standards in the industry, as well as facilitate feedback from organizations and improve the performance and value of the healthcare staffing certification program. Clinical One's Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Certification supports the hospitals own quality improvement efforts and compliance with Joint Commission standards.
