What is your screening and credentialing process for candidates to be accepted into your program?
Candidates must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute care setting and within their respective discipline (3 year minimum for LPNs and 2 year minimum for CSTs) before being considered for acceptance into our program. The vast majority of accepted candidates in our database have more than five (5) years of experience.

Our professionals undergo rigorous screening to ensure that our client facilities always get the professionals they demand. These procedures, which comply with JCAHO standards, include:

  • In-depth phone interviews with each candidate
  • Verification of academic credentials, employment history and licenses
  • Verbal and written references/performance evaluations from recent employers
  • Completion of a comprehensive skills assessment
  • Competency & skills testing
  • Annual required continuing education including OSHA & HIPAA
  • Criminal background investigations
  • All other health related screening (i.e. MMR, PPD)
Once the admissions process is complete, our Director of Quality Assurance, a Registered Nurse, reviews each profile to ensure the candidate's qualifications for our program.

A large part of our screening process is ensuring that our professionals are not only clinically sound, but also possess the flexibility and adaptability to come into a new work environment with minimal orientation and "go right to work".

What differentiates Clinical One from other staffing agencies?
Our philosophy is simple - we focus on individualized recruitment strategies for each of our clients. Rather than focusing on generating as many job orders as possible from our clients, and hoping to fill a percentage of them, Clinical One operates much differently. Clinical One strives to establish long-term partnerships with a select group of clients so that we can fully understand their needs and come up with a customized recruiting plan based on those specific needs. This enables us to meet our goal of providing the best suited candidates for your particular facility or company in a way that best meets your overall staffing needs.

How does Clinical One recruit for candidates?
Clinical One recruits on a nationwide basis for potential candidates. Part of our recruitment strategy includes significant expenditure in advertising in healthcare industry-related magazines and journals representing a combined circulation reaching over 400,000 healthcare professionals. In addition to printed media, Clinical One also invests in Internet advertising as a means of recruitment. We are proud to have over 300 websites and search engines linked to Clinical One, enabling us to utilize technology to meet the future of recruitment "head on". We also attend nationwide conferences and trade shows on a regular basis to supplement our recruitment efforts. Clinical One has spent years successfully building a quality reputation with healthcare professionals, and as a result, the greatest percentage of our candidates come from a referral source, either a professional already working for our company or someone who is familiar with the services we provide. In fact, over 60% of the healthcare professionals that we accept into our program come from a trusted referral source.

What is the average response time after a need is posted?
At Clinical One, we have found that the most qualified healthcare professionals are reassigned to facilities very quickly. When we receive a request for staffing, we begin working on your request immediately. As soon as the order is received, it is entered into our computer system and available to all recruiters in the company. Per Diem orders are often filled within minutes. Depending on the skill requirements, we will have qualified applicants available for you to review in 48-72 hours for contract, travel, or permanent positions. Should we encounter difficulty coming up with qualified candidates, we will keep an open dialogue with you, offering suggestions on how we can make the opportunity more attractive.

What type of staffing options are available to my facility?
Clinical One can assist with meeting all of your per diem, contract, travel, and permanent staffing needs. The majority of contract assignments are for an initial three- (3) month [13 week] period. However, Clinical One can tailor a contractual arrangement from four (4) to twenty-six (26) weeks, depending on your particular staffing needs with either a local contract employee or a "traveler". Our Per Diem division can provide assistance with last minute job openings for as short as one shift or other shorter term needs due to census fluctuation or vacation coverage. Our Permanent Placement division can provide you a direct hire that will be your employee for one flat fee. If you are looking for a more comprehensive staffing solution, our Managed Service option can provide a complete staffing plan to manage the entire process.

How does the interview and placement process work?
Clinical One will assign one key contact person to your facility. This dedicated resource will be your primary contact for all communication and will take the time to gain an in-depth understanding of the specific staffing needs of each clinical unit. Once the contract and rates are approved, and specific positions, unit descriptions and shifts are posted with our dedicated recruiters, we can begin working on the next steps immediately.

For per diem needs, we will expedite the process by conducting the interviews in advance for you, so we can send qualified candidates directly to your facility when you need them.

For contract or travel positions, the timeframe may vary depending on location and specialty required, but you can typically expect to start receiving candidate profiles within 48-72 hours of posting a position. You will first have the opportunity to conduct a phone interview with the candidate prior to making a hiring decision. Your Account Representative can help facilitate the interview process by setting up a conference call between the candidate and the respective hiring manager once the profile has been received and approved by your facility.

For permanent placements, you also have the additional option of conducting an in person interview after the phone interview before making your final selection.

If I have a concern or complaint, how will that be handled?
Clinical One prides itself on the exceptional customer service that we provide. Any complaints about our service are taken very seriously and addressed immediately. At the time of the complaint, we first request a conference call to occur as soon as possible. We then discuss the concerns/complaints at length and come to a resolution that is acceptable to you. Clinical One is always open to feedback regarding how we can improve our service or customize it to better meet our clients' needs.

Clinical One uses a formal incident reporting procedure to handle any complaints received from our clients or employees. Client complaints or concerns regarding an employee are documented in writing. Upon review of the written complaint, our Director of Training & Quality Assurance may contact the specific unit manager to obtain additional details/information. An Employee Statement is obtained and a plan of correction is developed which may include additional training and/or orientation.

Can Clinical One assist my facility with other positions besides healthcare?
